Round 2 of the Roughrider tournament was tonight at BCHS. Game 1 of the night was Bowman County JV team vs Hettinger/Scranton. Our boys fought hard all game and showed many great things vs the nighthawks. Experience and a great low post presence proved to be too much for our young squad. The nighthawks win by a final score of: 63-53 Be proud boys. You fought hard this tournament. In Varsity action, our bulldogs played the late game in the semi finals vs Beach. The buccaneers came ready to play and caused our team some issues on both sides of the ball. A back and forth battle ensued. Beach in control much of the 2nd half. A late rally by the bulldogs forced the game into OT. In overtime, the bulldogs came out firing from the outside building a lead that Beach just could not overcome. Final score in favor of the dawgs 86-81 Up next for the bulldogs is a championship match vs the Titans from dickinson Trinity. That game will again be the late game on Saturday. Great job boys. It was an entertaining night of basketball.

Bowman County boys basketball kicked it's season off tonight in the Roughrider tournament held at BCHS. The first game of the night our JV team squared away with the #1 seed Dickinson Trinity Titans. Our boys fought hard in the first half. Trinity's ball pressure was just too much for our young squad. Final score in favor of the titans 59-30. Up next for our JV boys is a match up vs Hettinger/Scranton in the 3pm game on Thursday. The varsity boys played the final game of the night vs the Raiders from Richardton/Taylor. The boys had a great first quarter on the defensive side of the ball. RT showed some toughness and made our squad work hard to regain control. Our boys were able to force turnovers and play a faster pace in the 2nd half. This helped secure a 68-32 win for our Dawgs. Thursday night at 730 will be a matchup vs Beach in the semi finals. Great job to both squads tonight. We will continue to work hard and improve.
